Saco Little League All Stars
Congratulations to the Saco/Dayton Little League All Star team on winning the Maine State Championship! The team will be heading to Bristol, Connecticut to represent the State of Maine in the Regional Tournament beginning Sunday, August 8th. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a once in a lifetime experience for these hardworking boys!
After winning the District 4 Tournament in early July, the Saco/Dayton team lost the first game of the Maine State Tournament 3-0 to a strong Cumberland/North Yarmouth team putting them in the losers bracket. In the must-win losers bracket, Saco/Dayton beat Medomak Valley 15-0, Augusta 10-0, and Bangor 6-0 before beating Cumberland/North Yarmouth 5-1 Saturday night under the lights in OOB. Saco/Dayton pulled out a dramatic come from behind win against Cumberland/North Yarmouth the following day with a walk-off 7-6 win in the bottom of the 6th inning!
