My name is Kim Coon, I have created this GoFundMe account for my dearest friend Sabrina Gantz and her family.
Sabrina is a 52-year-old mom and “Nonna” that has been diagnosed with “ALL” – Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She is currently on dialysis as her kidney function was only at 6% when she was admitted. She is currently on round one of intense daily Chemotherapy treatments with 8-9 more rounds on top of the dialysis and will need ongoing bone marrow transplants. Sabrina has had to temporarily stop working due the weakness and shortness of breath caused by her failing kidneys. She has had a PICC line installed and a dialysis port access placed right by her heart. Sabrina has already been out of work for a month and has three weeks of hospitalization ahead of her before she can go home for a few days and will then have to return to the hospital in Orlando for more treatments for a long time to come.
This has caused an urgent financial strain for the Gantz family; therefore I have set up this GoFundme account in order to help her. Troy has not left her side since being admitted a week ago. They are going to have MANY medical expenses associated with this life-threatening illness. There are already medications and procedures that are not covered by their insurance, and she will need constant travel to Orlando and back for treatments once she is released.
Sabrina has already undergone many vigorous evaluations and tests at Advent Women’s Hospital in Orlando and is currently receiving wonderful care on the Cancer Institute Bone Marrow Transplant unit. She has got a long road of care ahead of her but she’s already responding well to dialysis and chemo.
Our hope is for Sabrina to continue this impeccable care with Troy by her side the whole way. She is DETERMINED to fight but even the strongest are still weakened and tested mentally and physically. All the things you hear about happening with cancer are happening; nausea, vomiting, trouble sleeping to name a few and eventually hair loss…
We are so thankful for everyone who has reached out to check on Sabrina and we hope you will consider donating to the Gantz family. Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
(if you would prefer to donate by other means please reach out to me or Sabrina’s children, Jonathan & Jeffrey directly)
