Sabrina's Gift

Dear friends,

The world lost a bright light when 14-year-old Sabrina Conforti passed from this world in the early hours of Nov. 14. She bravely fought a Ependymoma, a rare form of cancer. So strong was this sweet girl that she was working on the production team of a children's musical, doing the actors' hair, makeup, and running the show music, a mere 7 days before her passing. She knew that her radiation and chemo treatment took priority so, instead of getting on stage for this show, she chose to work on the production team and help other actors shine.

Sabrina was a theater kid, through and through. She studied voice and got on stage whenever possible. Her combination of being a hard worker with an easy-going spirit was recognized and appreciated by her directors. She made friends easily and her castmates say that Sabrina was "a bright light", "happy and positive", "kind", and made them feel cared for.

As you can imagine, cancer treatment brings with it a mountain of bills that any parent would be more than willing to take on to care for their child. We hope you will help us ease the burden of this and funeral costs for Rachel and Joe Conforti. We are calling the effort "Sabrina's Gift" because we know that our community will respond not just to help the family through this unimaginable time but because sweet Sabrina touched their lives.

Sabrina, you were a gift to us. And we will pass that gift on to help those you love.
