My name is Brian Krouse, I am looking to raise funds for my wife, Sabrina Krouse, who is currently in the hospital in Seattle, Washington going through another treatment for Leukemia.
Here is Sabrina's story:
A month after her 18th birthday in September 2010, Sabrina, got cancer for the first time for which she went through chemotherapy and was "cancer-free."
I met Sabrina in 2014. We were friends at first, then she asked me out on a date. I accepted, even though there is a significant age gap between us, she made me laugh in a way I had not before. We dated for awhile and while I had planned to propose in the future, we soon found out she had relapsed in late 2014.
The weekend we found out, I proposed to her. It was more than a proposal, but a promise that I would be by her side for the long haul. She went through treatment and in 2015 got a bone marrow transplant. We postponed the wedding a couple of times so she could recover but finally were married in 2018.
Two days before our wedding, Dr. Cassaday told us to visit him the week after. When we did, he broke the news that Sabrina's cancer had returned. We thought we had to postpone our honeymoon but the day before our honeymoon cruise, the doctor told us to go anyway. When we returned , Sabrina went right back into treatment but this time it was a clinical trial because we had run out of standard options. After the clinical trial, she showed no Leukemia in her system!
Unfortunately in 2020, she again relapsed. At the moment, we are going through a new level of clinical trials and with any luck, this will put her into remission again at which point we will try a second bone marrow transplant.
Sabrina is a beautiful, bubbly person who has now been battling Leukemia for 10 years. At age 28, she is currently in the hospital fighting this disease like the strong woman she is.
