Hi, my name is Maria and I’m reaching out for help for our sweet girl, Sabre. She’s a 3-year-old Finnish Spitz who lights up every room — pure sunshine on a cloudy day. She gives love to everyone she meets, and now she needs love back.
Yesterday, Sabre’s health declined suddenly and without warning. What started as mild vomiting on the evening of August 26th escalated quickly. By the next morning, there was blood in her vomit and stool. Our vet ran tests — her vitals, x-ray, and bloodwork all came back clear — and we thought she was stable enough to rest at home. But minutes after returning, Sabre collapsed and began bleeding heavily.
We rushed her to the emergency clinic at the University of Saskatchewan, where she went into cardiac arrest from blood loss. The team performed CPR and, miraculously, brought her back. Despite the odds (3%), she has shown positive signs of responsiveness, and we are holding onto hope as she fights for her life.
I’ve never had to ask for help like this — usually I’ve been fortunate enough to be the one donating to others. But now, I humbly ask for any kind of support. If you’ve met Sabre, you know why we’re fighting so hard for her. She has so much love left to give, and we just want to give her the chance to keep sharing it with the world.
