Salaams/hello everyone,
My cousin Sabiha who lives in Pakistan has sadly been diagnosed with end stage cancer this week. She has metastatic ovarian cancer, and is a young mother with a young family of 11 children masha'Allah.
As you can imagine we are all devastated and finding it incredibly hard to process it all. My cousin is already in substantial debt from just paying for the diagnostic testing and symptom control medication. I have tried to support financially and by facilitating an appointment with the only hospital in Pakistan that offers free treatment (in Pakistan you have to pay for all your care as there is no NHS type system), Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital, but they have sadly said they are not able to offer treatment as they feel Sabiha's cancer is too advanced. They have referred to NORI hospital in Islamabad where Sabiha has gone today, but she has already had 3 hospitals decline her treatment. My aim is to raise money for:
1. If Sabiha is offered the chance of any surgery/chemotherapy/radiotherapy that she is able to pay for this and not having to worry about the finances of how to do this and the worry of leaving her family with even more debt.
2. Sabiha has a very large ascites (fluid on her stomach), and I'm trying to advocate her having this drained. So even if she is not offered any treatment for her cancer I want to support and ensure she is able to have whatever procedures and care that will give her and her family comfort in her last stage of life.
3. Using any money that maybe left over from her care needs, to help Sabiha pay off any debts she has and to help leave some provision for her loved ones, in particular her children insha'Allah.
I know that financially it is a difficult time for most, so if you are not able to contribute financially (no amount is seen as too small), then I request all the prayers, love, and positive energy that your able to give please.
For those who are Muslim, this would be Zakat eligible.
Please share my fundraiser in your circles.
Thank you so much,
