I would like to start out by giving you an insight as to who my brother is before I tell you the story of this gofundme page.  Benjamin is a 27 year old father to his favorite person in the world, his son, Isaiah. Before this incident Ben was a VERY active adventurer and hands on Dad, and Uncle, to not only his niece and nephews but to their friends as well (take a peek at his many adventures on the linked video). He is a single father trying to make ends meet. He has the biggest and most caring heart anyone could ask for. He would, and has literally, taken the shirt off of his back for others in need. Ben and Isaiah are now the ones in need of some help. On August 20th, 2020, after watching his sons first football scrimmage of the year. My brother, Benjamin Saar, was admitted to the hospital after being seen in the ER for pain in his side. The ER visit determined that my 27 year old, otherwise healthy brother, was in acute systolic heart failure as well as renal infarction and A-FIB. While being in A-FIB (an irregular and rapid heart rhythm), he shot two blood clots to his kidney which caused a blockage. The clot blockage in turn ended up causing fluid around his heart and his lungs. Once he was stable enough, he was transferred via ambulance to PCU (Progressive Care Unit). His blood pressure dropped dangerously low many times during his stay. He also became extremely nauseous and gave himself a black eye from regurgitating so forcefully. During his week in PCU he was placed on oxygen, blood thinners and blood pressure medication. After an unsuccessful attempt at a cardioversion. He was released with serious restrictions. VERY restricted release, so he does not have a stroke or heart atack due to increased heart rate or another clot shooting out.  Ben's heart is only pumping out 25% to 30% of blood through his left ventrical. the normal percentage is between 55% and 75%. Unfortunately, he is not out of the woods yet. Just one of his medications is $500 a bottle (he is on 4 different medications). His hospital bill was over $35,000. He has insurance to cover some of those costs. However, there are still everyday expenses including groceries, his rent, and everday essentials for himself and Isaiah. He is not able to go back to work until he has a cardioversion to shock his heart back into sinus rhythm. The reason they have to wait for this is because he has a blood clot in his left ventricle aorta. This was the reason for the first unsuccessful attempt of the procedure. I know that him and his son, Isaiah would appreciate any kind of financial help to get them through this trying time. As a family we are all pulling together to do everything we can. At this point, the financial burden this has brought upon us, is not something we can realistically handle. We are very thankful for all the doctors, nurses, and specialists who helped save our brother. There were several times he may not have made it without their life saving efforts. We would also like to thank you all for reading Ben's story and thank you for any help you can give. Ben is one of the strongest men we know and we pray that he will get through this ❤ https://youtu.be/-Y1osmq0fQ4
