Nellies recovery ❤️
Donation protected
Last week, our beautiful old girl was subject to an unprovoked attack from an unregistered aggressive dog, running out from its home.
The dog mauled her before running back into its home. The owner did nothing to help or say sorry, and has since rid of the dog.
The owner does not work and will not have any money to contribute.
Nell came away with a broken sternum, broken ribs, punctures to her chest and rump. Our beautiful dog sitters took her to the emergency vet and were informed she needed surgery, but due to Christmas they couldn’t do anything yet. After some care Nell was brought home. Later that night her breathing started to suffer and she was rushed back to the vet.
It was then evident that her injuries were much worse.
Nell was in so much pain that she had to be sedated and given oxygen as pain relief wasn’t cutting it.
Eventually she had surgery and a drain placed to assist with her chest wounds.
Nell now has rotting wounds on her rump due to the bacteria from the dogs mouth. Once the extent of the rotting is apparent, she will then have another surgery to remove the rotting skin. As the area is so large, there will not be enough skin to close the wounds, but we must hope that this is enough to save her and the skin will heal eventually.
We lost our other dog 5weeks ago. His treatment cost us $5k. Nells treatment is estimated to tally $8k by her next surgery and we cannot see beyond that point but we pray she pulls through and it’s the end of her suffering due to someone’s irresponsible and disgusting nature.
We have had an overwhelming response to what has happened, with so many of you beautiful souls wanting to help us with the cost of her recovery and encouraging a go fund me.
We feel embarrassed doing so, however any small change will help hugely after the past months events.
Please don’t feel that you have to give anything. But if you do, please also know that even $2 is greatly appreciated.
Nell has touched so many hearts and she deserves the world.
Love always wins and karma will find its way.
Thank you so much and we love you all ❤️
