Maria’s Hospice Care
Donation protected
Maria has terminal lung cancer and has recently been moved to hospice. She is fighting for a miracle, but her prognosis is not good. She has two daughters, one of whom still resides in Florida where Maria lived before coming to New York for a second opinion from Memorial Sloan Kettering. Her youngest daughter is a freshman in high school, and her oldest is 29 and pregnant with Maria’s second grandchild.
Maria deserves for the coming days to be peaceful ones, free of worry for her family’s well-being after she is gone. Donations will go to support for her daughter’s travel expenses, palliative care while she is in hospice, and living expenses for her daughters during their time of grief.
Though she is in pain, Maria smiles every day. She exclaimed, “Oh wow!” with genuine delight when I gave her the simple gift of my Elmo the day I was discharged from the hospital. I hope you will join me in bringing more smiles and more “oh wow” moments to Maria’s final days.
