Our hearts are broken once again, our precious granddaughter Abigail’s cancer has returned.
The worst possible news came to Abby and her family on Jan 29th, 2019 as only a few short months of being in remission, sweet Abby has relapsed. There are no words to try and explain how everyone is feeling with this devastating news.
Abby is 17 years old and has been sick for the past 4 years, which no teenager should ever have to endure. Her mother Lisa, has been off work since the day that Abby got diagnosed in September 2015 which means almost 4 years with a financial burden on the family and still a long road ahead .
Abby’s body has been hit hard by this relapse , as she suffered a seizure and continues to fight many infections including a brain bleed and a several blood clots.
On Feb 9, 2019, Lisa and Abby were airlifted to Sick kids in Toronto with the hopes that she will get well enough to begin a procedure for one of two options; A) a bone marrow transplant or B) A new option to Canada is a “T-cell transplant”. This will take up to a year of treatment in Toronto for Abby and her family
The family has had unimaginable stress the last three years and we’re looking to move forward with life.
Garry ,Lisa, Trevor, Melissa and little Griffin appreciate the love and support and are trying to navigate around this awful time once again. Everyone that crosses Abby‘s path in life knows she is an amazing strong person and will take this fight on with all she has.... Again!
A donation of any size is much appreciated and will go a long ways.
