Hi, as you may or may not already know me. My name is Elizabeth and I have cervical cancer and I’m 29 years old. It’s been a long and painful journey — one that started a year and four months ago. Since then, I’ve gone through surgery, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and 35 consecutive days of radiation and have delt with a nephrostomy tube due to issues from kidney. I finished radiation at the end of March of this year, hoping to be done for good. But my journey didn’t end there. In June, before I could even make it to my 3-month follow-up CT scan, I began having intense pain in my right leg and hips. It got so severe that I had to go to the ER, where I spent 7 emotionally exhausting days, and eventually needed a blood transfusion and ended up getting a biopsy that showed still active cancer.

I’ve now restarted chemotherapy, something I had prayed I wouldn’t have to go through again. This first round was even harder on me, both physically and mentally, due to how much my body has already endured. Since finishing my initial treatment plan, this time around it has impacted my physical and mental health even more in a sense that I can’t walk or stand for very long at all, I’ve lost a lot of unhealthy weight, my tube requires me to go to the hospital every 3 months to get it exchanged,  that itself is a whole other burden & I’ve been dealing with my leg pain for about two whole months, and I don’t know when it's going to away since its my tumor pressing on my nerves down my whole right leg, and also damage from radiation. It could eventually stop, but I could also deal with it for a long time under meds.

The reason I am making a new gofundme again, is because this time I have found myself going to doctor appointments more, the co-payments,insurance, medication, medical supplies,  frequent CT scans, and regular hospital visits, sometimes I have to rely on Ubers to get to my appointments, and soon I would like to see a dietitian to work on my weight, which I know will require me to buy more groceries, such as healthier food options, high protein food, and protein drinks, which are a BIG help but pricey. And possibly a mental health specialist. 

I genuinely want to feel physically and mentally better, I have people who remind me to not give up my faith but there have been many dark days for me. What has made it even harder is that I don’t have my parents close to me and that in itself affects me the most and I sometimes forget how blessed I still am despite everything, but they are the reason I keep going. I am determined to keep fighting and be cancer free, regain my strength and find peace through this journey. I hoped to be done 3 months ago but my journey isn't over, and any support will help cover medical expenses, dietary needs, and possibly speak to a mental health professional and give me the chance to focus on healing and look forward to getting back to feeling like myself again one day at a time and and most importantly this pain to go away because it restricts me from doing a lot of day to day things. 

I really hate that I had to do this again, but past few months have been so tough and I felt the need to reach for help. Thank you sooooo much in advance for reading all this and for any type of support <3
