Alexis Martín Fiallos Acosta is 6 years old. He is very energetic and loving! Above all, he never loses faith that God will heal him completely so that he may enjoy life like all children. In his short years of life, he has taught everyone he knows to be very brave and to never give up in the face of adversity or illness.
Alexis was diagnosed with AL leukemia at 2 years old.
He was treated with chemotherapy in his home country, Ecuador. As he was nearing the end of his treatment, the leukemia returned at a 50% rate. His parents then decided to move to the U.S. for other treatment options as medical professionals in Ecuador gave little hopes of him getting better. They arrived in New Jersey on October 28, 2019. Upon their arrival, Alexis was hospitalized immediately and started a new chemotherapy treatment. Everything was going well as he went into remission until nine months later when his family received the terrible news that the leukemia had returned at a 70% rate.
Now, Alexis is being treated once again but with a more aggressive chemotherapy as he waits to receive a bone marrow transplant. His parents are expected to assume all medical expenses all while keeping up with other financial obligations.
In the midst of it all, Alexis continues to smile and spread love to everyone he meets. His parents are very proud of him as he is a great example of perseverance and bravery. He never gives up or gives into bad days but rather lives life fully every single day. His parents truly believe that as long as there is life, there is hope, and that for God nothing is impossible!
With so many medical expenses, the Acosta family humbly asks for your support during this difficult time. Financial assistance will allow Alexis continued access to his treatments as he battles cancer.
