First and foremost, thank you for taking a moment to at least read this little story....
I come from a proud family , so reaching out in this way makes me quite uncomfortable. I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures.
As many of you may already know, my daughter, Cheyanne, means the world to me and there is nothing I wouldn't do for her, but there are certain things in which I am quite limited.
My sweet girl is an incredibly hard worker....she is devoted and loyal, not only in her work, but in her interpersonal life as well. She is compassionate and caring and has an incredibly generous spirit....both with love and friendship.
However, a recent turn of events has her up against the proverbial wall. Earlier this year, she was hit by a car, while riding her bicycle to work., in Los Angeles. As an avid cyclist, this was her primary means of transportation. Since this was the third time she has been hit, she hung up her wheels and hasn't been on one since January. Her injuries have worsened to the point where she is only able to work (barely) part time, from her home. She is experiencing incredible difficulties obtaining temporary disability for injuries sustained from the incident. It was also determined that she has a genetic issue with regards to her spine, and at the young age of 25, the forecast for back surgery is looming. During this period of time, her father was in the midst of battling stage 4 lung cancer, and then her mama (yours truly) suffered some severe medical issues as well. Her father passed away in early September, and life stuff keeps piling up...one big thing after another. Suffice to say....her plate is 'buffet-style' full!
The bottom line is that this kid of mine, who lights up my world more than I can ever convey, has been slammed pretty hard by life. Many of us have, I realize....and times are tough for everybody, it seems.
I'm not asking for a ton of money,; I'm simply asking for some help so I can help my girl. My physical disability has prevented me from being able to work, so my help is limited in terms of finances. I help her with ears that listen, a virtual shoulder to cry upon and support with as much love as I can possibly give. Love doesn't pay the bills, unfortunately......but it does keep one sane(r) when things seem to be going sour. Again, I'm not asking for me....I'm asking on behalf of my girl, a beautiful, loving an compassionate light in this world.
She has already spent quite a bit of money on Dr's appointments....money she didn't have at the onset, but she needed to do something, so here we are.
This feels like begging and is quite the humbling experience, but I do dabble in art (acrylic painting), and I would be willing to donate back, a little something, to the first 20 donors. I can guarantee that it will be small (perhaps I shouldn't have led with that one), it will be colorful, vibrant, original and will (hopefully) make you smile as you are reminded of my gratitude for your generosity.
Thank you so much...
With the deepest appreciation,
Erin
