I wish I were writing for happier reasons, but I’m not. I am writing because I need help.

A little over two years ago, when I was 57, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. At the time, the cancer was contained in a small area of my prostate. Over the past two years it remained relatively stable, showing no significant signs of progression. However, last week I was informed that the cancer had spread to several other areas of my prostate. My doctor is now urging me to begin treatment within the next six months.

Unfortunately, I have fallen on hard times in recent years and don’t have enough money to cover the deductible and out of pocket expense required for my treatment. Additionally, I’ve exhausted all other options, including my savings, Medicare/Medicaid, charitable organizations, etc. My last resort is to reach out to you for help. I need $11,500 to cover the expenses needed for treatment.

I’ve always taken pride on my ability to stand on my own and take care of my own needs. Therefore, asking for help is not easy. I find myself, though, in a position that I have no other choice. If you can help, I would be forever grateful. Any contribution, big or small, would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
