Zorro's vet bills

Donation protected
Hello Everyone, we are Lisa, John and Indigo Weston.
Our cat, Zorro was hit by a car on Saturday night. He somehow got home and into our bed, not bleeding thankfully, however in pain. We rushed to the Emergency Vet Hospital in Riverhead. A wonderful haven at 2am Sunday morning, when your beloved family member is hurting.
Zorro is wonderful part of our family. Our little guy, he comes running when we whistle for him. He talks to us with his tail. He has a ways of letting us know he wants to play and be let out and in, even though he has his own kitty door. He seems to know when we are upset or sad, and consoles us. He loves to run, jump, climb, pounce and wrestle his sister Darla. Zorro and Darla mean the world to us. We would be lost without them.
X-rays revealed that his tail was dislocated in 2 places, a fracture on the socket of his hip joint and a dislocation of the joint on the hip that connects to the spine. Surgery was a must. Cost of the X-rays alone, over $600.
Monday, the surgery went well, 3 procedures in one operation. They fixed his hip dislocation with a screw and his hip fracture by removing the ball off the head of the femur, and his tail was also amputated. They took his tail a most expressive of him.  A second surgery is possible. Cost of first Surgery, $5500.
Wednesday, Thankfully good news! A second operation is not needed, since Zorro has regained some control of his bladder and rectal muscles. This means he can come home sooner.
He will need some rehab and boarding. We do not know yet for how long or how much that will cost.
We would be using the money collected to pay for Zorro’s vet bills.
We will need the money as soon as possible to 6 months, to cover his rehab going forward. We were fortunate to get some of the costs financed at 0 percent for six months, and we all know want happens after that.
We know money is tight for all of us. Zorro’s accident came at a time when we are already down. Work has not been steady for us recently. To have even some of this cost covered by the generosity of others would be a huge relief, and would confirm, what I always believe, that there are people out there who care. “Thank you” does not come close to how grateful we are for your support.
Good health and love to all
Lisa, John, Indigo, Darla and especially Zorro
