Support For Matthew

Our friend Matt Thompson received some very hard news.

 

Matt is a father of two awesome kids, Stanley (6) and Rose (3), loving boyfriend to his girlfriend Carlee, a hardworking 4th year carpenter working for Atco Gas and living in High River, Alberta.

 

Three years ago, Matt was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer, and had 70% of his descending colon removed, followed by three months of recovery, and six months of chemotherapy. At only 31 years old, he beat it.

 

Recently, doctors found 3 spots on his lungs, following multiple tests and a lung biopsy, Matt received the terrible news that the biopsy test was positive for cancer, and was diagnosed with Stage 4  cancer. Doctors informed him that there were too many spots in too many locations to safely perform surgery.

 

The only option for now, is aggressive chemotherapy, to shrink the size of the spots on the lungs, so that an operation can be safely performed.

 

The financial burden is very real, as Matt will now be away from work for the foreseeable future. He is one of the most positive people we know, even with this news, he keeps a smile on his face, and is dedicated to beating this again.
