Support for Jenn Burwash, RN
Donation protected
On Aug 30, 2015 Jenn went in to the hospital after feeling very sick for almost a week. She had had a miscarriage and had developed a severe infection (Sepsis). After an emergency D & C she was admitted to the ICU. She seemed to get better quickly and was moved to a surgical OBS bed after 3 days. However, her condition deteriorated over the next week. After many tests for bacterial & viral infections, they diagnosed her with Adult Onset Stills Disease. Shortly after, her respiratory condition became critical and she was moved back to the ICU and put her on a ventilator. They monitored her condition and diagnosed her with Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare blood disorder that causes severe inflammation of many organs and consumes healthy blood cells. Jenn was in ICU for about 6 weeks. She is now out of ICU but remains in hospital. She is receiving chemotherapy, frequent blood transfusions and is waiting for a bone marrow transplant.
Jenn and husband Dan have 3 children (17, 14 and 2 years old) they live and work in Saskatoon, SK. Jenn works as a OBS nurse at the Royal University Hospital. Jenn is the daughter of Christine (Tina Evans, daughter of John & Seraphine Evans from Fort Smith, NT) and Jim Dickens. Dan has spent days at Jenn's side while she was in ICU and as she continues to recover. Dan has reduced his hours at work to be able to care for Jenn and his family. Jenn will not be able to return to work for quite some time.
We are asking for donations for financial support for the Burwash family, while Jenn continues to recover. We are also asking prayers and healing thoughts to support Jenn in her recovery. Thank you in advance for your support.
