Three years ago Lisa was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer and was thought to successfully undergone radiation and chemotherapy. MRI scans following treatment were clear for a couple years until this past February when Lisa went in for her routine 6 month checkup and a new spot was found on her cerebellum. After several MRI scans to confirm that the white spot indeed was a new tumor, she had her second brain surgery on March 26th.
This week she found out her pathology results. Lisa's tumor again is an anaplastic astrocytoma, which is stage 3 brain cancer. Treatment will be the same as before, radiation and chemotherapy. The MRI bills are beginning to come in and hospital expected shortly. There is a separate pharamacy deductible to hit and chemo and radiation is almost every day for 6 weeks and then will be continued every month for 6 months to a year.
