Please help my friend who helps animals

A good friend who has spent her life caring for animals in need and to
who I am related though our dogs, is facing dire financial circumstances.
She has worked for decades to educate the public about a wide spectrum
of animal welfare issues, and has testified in court on more than a
few occasions in defense of animals in need of protection. She has
provided care to animals over the years on a sliding scale to help those
who could not otherwise afford care.

She had been struggling for quite some time with massive
outstanding debt due to an earlier illness. When Covid hit, her small
animal related business was drastically reduced because of the necessity of
close interaction with people. Single and self supporting, she
is now struggling to pay even basic bills. The compounded pressures have
led recently to her developing a painful stress induced illness which
further limits her immediate ability to work. At this point I am
terrified she will lose her home.

My friend is very strong and independent but is completely overwhelmed
and feels hopeless. Still, it was nearly impossible to talk her into
this GoFundMe. This is very personal. Without her, I would not have my
Dobermans. Our dogs are the only thing that have kept my family sane and
whole throughout the trials and isolation of the pandemic.

My goal is to raise enough to pay off her mounting debts, enable her to
remain in her home and provide a small cushion to help her get back on
her feet and back to her life's work: serving animals in need and the
