Help our mom fight cancer

My name is Raquel and I have the great honor of being Raquel Gutierrez’s daughter. My mother is an amazing woman, who has spent her entire life devoted to helping others, saving little time or energy for herself.

Unfortunately, my mother was diagnosed with uterine cancer in February 2022 at only 60 years old. Despite undergoing a year's worth of treatment; radiotherapy and chemotherapy doctors have found that the cancer has spread. The current treatments are no longer recommended, and doctors have determined my mother will have six months to a year left to live.

The devastating news was delivered with one sign of hope. Adjuvant treatment may be able to control the cancer from spreading and provide my mother an additional few months of life, or at the very least, improve her quality of life in the remaining time.

If she responds well to her first adjuvant treatment, she will need to continue receiving a dose every 21 days. The cost of each dose is around $4,500 USD and is not covered by any insurance. My brother and I as well as every other member of our family able to support her, have spent nearly every last cent on her previous treatments in hope of remission. We simply have nothing else to give but are not ready to give up.

Please help me in making her remaining time on Earth as enjoyable as possible, by not only ensuring she has the money for her treatments but in helping her reunite with her family.

Growing up in an impoverished country under a dictatorship, she has spent her whole life focused on survival, working, supporting her family, helping her children escape to safer countries and now battling cancer.

Mi nombre es Raquel y tengo el gran honor de ser hija de Raquel Gutiérrez. Mi mamá es una mujer increíble, sumamente especial, la cual ha pasado toda su vida dedicada a ayudar a los demás y dedicando poco tiempo o energía para sí misma.

Desafortunadamente, a mi mamá le diagnosticaron cáncer de útero en febrero de 2022 con tan solo 60 años. A pesar de someterse a un año de tratamiento con radioterapia y quimioterapia, los médicos han descubierto que el cáncer se ha propagado. Los tratamientos actuales ya no se recomiendan y han determinado que a mi mamá le puede quedar de seis meses a un año de vida.

Aún y cuando esta noticia es sumamente devastadora, su doctor nos dió una señal de esperanza.

Le sugiere un tratamiento coadyuvante, el cual puede controlar la propagación del cáncer y brindarle a mi mamá unos meses más de vida o al menos, mejorar su calidad de vida en el tiempo restante.

Si responde bien a su primer tratamiento coadyuvante, deberá continuar recibiendo una dosis cada 21 días. El costo de cada dosis ronda entre los $4,500 USD y no está cubierto por ningún seguro. Mi hermano y yo, así como todos los demás miembros de nuestra familia capaces de colaborar, hemos gastado casi hasta el último centavo en sus tratamientos anteriores con la esperanza de remisión. Simplemente no tenemos nada más que dar, pero no estamos dispuestos a rendirnos.

Por favor, ayúdenme a hacer que su tiempo restante en la Tierra sea lo más placentero posible, no solo asegurándose de que tenga el dinero para cubrir sus tratamientos, examenes y medicinas, sino también ayudándola a reunirse con su familia.

Al crecer en un país empobrecido bajo una dictadura, ha pasado toda su vida enfocada en la supervivencia, trabajando duro, manteniendo a su familia, ayudando a sus hijos a escapar a países más seguros y ahora luchando contra el cáncer.
