Hello,
For those that know me, you'll know that I love Sid more than anything. He is genuinely like my child. We rescued him nearly 4 years ago and that was the best decision ever.
Yesterday Sid started having seizures out of the blue and they wouldn't stop. Eventually after several hours, anaesthetic and different medications the vets were able to get him stable and he was transported to a specialist hospital in castle donnington.
Our bill for the local vets care was just shy of £1700, the estimate for an mri and his intensive overnight stay last night was around £5,500.
The MRI revealed he has a lesion in his brain that's bleeding. As of the last update they don't know what sort of legion it is but the bleeding and subsequent swelling that caused the seizure.
At this point we do not know how long he will need to remain under a constant observation and what the treatment will be. (If treatment is an option) we could be looking in the region of tens of thousands.
I am not one to ask for money but I would hate for the reason we don't get him back to be that we cannot afford it. I am currently out of work due to redundancy but actively looking for work. This does mean at the moment we are only on one income so using any savings we have to pay the medical bills. We are prepared to do whatever we can for our baby.
