This is my guinea pig Muffin, on December 2nd my vet found a tumor in her tummy. It’s a mammary tumor that is most likely cancer. Now that’s not confirmed because the vet couldn’t get a good enough biopsy, but it showed no infection which makes it more likely to be malignant. She has been in pain from this already, she’s currently on three medications to keep her comfortable. The surgery to remove it is scheduled for January 7th, it is a very common and straightforward procedure. I was quoted $753-$1212. I know, if you can’t afford the vet don’t get the pet. When I rescued her I was employed and had a good savings. But I recently lost my job due to my disability, and used all the money I had trying to save my other two guinea pigs. Who both ended up passing in the last two months. Muffin is estimated to be around four years old, so not a senior yet like my other two. Giving her a much better chance of making it.
