My name is Amber. I'm 42 years old. So here's my story. Back in April of 2025, I was misdiagnosed with kidney failure. They put drainage tubes in me. I was in and out of the hospital for 6 to 9 months. I went septic once and almost died, only to be told I have double kidney failure a month later. I decided I wanted a second opinion, so I went to a different hospital. They did a bunch of tests the other hospital didn't do, including biopsies and an MRI. Within 24 hours, the doctors came in and told me I have stage 4 Type B squamous cell carcinoma cervical cancer that has spread to my ovaries, my bladder, my rectum, my lung, and the lymph nodes in my neck. I already got my portacath put into my chest. It feels funny in; I'm still getting used to it. I start my first round of chemo next week. They said they are using 4 different kinds of chemo meds to fight with. The doctors told me I will lose my hair, I will lose more weight, and I will be tired all the time. They are saying this is a very painful and aggressive type of cancer to have. The doctors already ordered me a hospital bed and a walker. I have already talked to palliative care as well. They are going to try to make me as comfortable as possible.
With all this going on, I am trying to pull some money together to be able to bring my son and his fiancé down from Oregon. I'm an ordained minister and they want me to marry them, just in case I don't beat this and something happens. I am also trying to get my mom down here from Fresno, enough to put her up in a motel for at least 3 to 5 days. This way she can come and spend time with me and be here when I start my treatments. Any and every little thing can and will help. Even if you are sharing my story or just praying for me, I can sure use them. Thank you in advance.
