We woke up on Tuesday March 31st to my 5 month old Stella uncomfortable and not putting any weight on her rear right leg. I am guessing she injured herself jumping the dog gate as she was on the wrong side of it. I figured I would give it 72 hours to see if it resolved itself. I applied ice and kept a close eye on her.

Come Friday April 3rd there was no improvement so we took her in and she was examined, x-rayed , prescribed medication & splinted .

She was given the diagnosis of a Tibial Crest Avulsion Fracture affecting the growth plate. We were told that time was of the essence and that this kind of fracture will not heal itself and will require surgery.

We were given quotes of $5,000-8,000 for surgery and have applied for all of the care credit cards ( Care Credit , Scratch Pay & All Pet Credit Card ) which I have been denied by all. I have applied for multiple grants and assistance which I am waiting to hear back from ( Hearts Alive , Red Rover , Humane Society , Animal Foundation )

Stella is an amazing addition to our family and my son’s dog whom he’s become very attached to . We're all devastated and at this point feeling desperate and asking for help to save her leg.
