Hello, my name is Jolie and I've decided to reach out and ask for help for our daughter and her roommate. Our daughter's apartment building in Birmingham, AL caught on fire in the weeeee hours of the morning on July 16th. Unfortunately, the apartment appears to be a complete loss and both girls will have to start all over and replace all of their belongings that were in there. I would like to say that both girls are SAFE AND SOUND - our daughter was home with us in California for the summer and her roommate was successfully evacuated before the fire reached their specific unit. Our daughter began attending UAB last year on a scholarship and her father and I moved her back their and got her all set up and squared away for the school year. While we will help her as much as we can to do it all over again, it is an expensive endeavor, made even harder by the 2,500 miles between us. Both girls will now have to find a new place to live and will have to come up with their first & last month's rent, their deposit, buy new furniture, replace everything they had in their kitchen, buy an entire wardrobe with shoes, replace all their toiletries, etc......not to mention the devastating loss of irreplaceable personal items.

Anything that anyone is willing and able to donate towards their loss would be greatly appreciated. We will be splitting whatever is donated between the two girls.
