Tyler's Road to Recovery

Hello Everyone,

A terrible thing has happened to a very kind soul who would drop everything to help a stranger.

My name is Kayla and my brother Tyler was in a horrific car accident on October 21st.

He was driving on the Soda Creek road with his dog in the back of his truck. He hit a soft shoulder going 20 km/hr which pulled him down a 100 ft bank where his truck hit a tree. His dog was thrown out of the truck, but luckily only walked away with a limp. Tyler was knocked out for at least an hour when he came to. He climbed out of the truck and headed up the bank that took him 5 hours to climb up. When he finally made it to the road he tried to waive for help and two vehicles just drove past him without stopping. He ended up crawling to the yellow line and passed out, when he woke he crawled back to the side of the road. Finally two girls stopped and I’m assuming they were the ones who called for 911 but they drove off instead of waiting with him. He felt that his face was wet and thought it was possibly water but when he reached up to feel his forehead he could feel the bone and see the flap of tissue in his periphery. When he arrived at the hospital he was diagnosed with hypothermia and couldn’t get a temperature reading. His face was covered with blood and dirt and was barely recognizable. Some of the injuries he is suffering from are as follows: forehead degloved, broken nose, broken ribs, compression fracture to his low back, disc herniation, cardiac and pulmonary contusions, and torn muscles. He was flown to the Kamloops hospital where they performed plastic surgery to his face and began rehab to be able to walk again.

I’m fundraising for his medical expenses, tow truck services and inability to work for the foreseeable future.
