Hello, my name is Heather and I'm fundraising for my husband, Henry Williams. Henry was born with a genetic kidney disease called Alport Syndrome that has caused his kidneys to fail. He no longer has any kidney function at all and is on dialysis 3 days a week. He's a 36-year-old loving husband, a hard-working student at Daytona State University, and loves to spend his spare time in the gym working on his fitness goals. He aspires to be in the medical field himself one day. Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, Florida is working with us to get him on the transplant list where he could receive a cadaver kidney (although a living donor kidney would be best and you can apply to be a potential donor at https://www.mayoclinic.org/livingdonor), but they've advised us that during the first month of receiving the transplant, regardless if its a cadaver or living donor kidney, the expense on our end will be about $10,000 due to co-pays on the transplant medications, loss of income, having to stay in Jacksonville for the first month for the almost daily check-ups, etc.
Any amount donated towards this cause would help. If you're in good health, please also consider applying to become a donor. You could be a hero!
