'Boondi' Blacklock's Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Any Rugby League fan from the '70's and '80's will remember Ray 'Boondi' Blacklock. Starting his career at St Mary's, Ray then played with ARL clubs Penrith, Newtown and the Canberra Raiders. A great bloke as well as a champion player, Ray has recently been diagnosed with Cerebellar Syndrome, a condition that has left him with slurred speech, loss of balance and a disintegration of motor skills.
Without critical surgery, 'Boondi' will certainly face paraplegia and a life in full-time care.
The Men of League and Penrith Panthers are hosting a fundraiser event to help us raise much needed funds for intensive brain surgery, but we need your help to raise the massive $80,000 needed for this specialist operation.
So many wonderful friends, fans and peers have been contacting 'Boondi' wanting to donate, and we need all the help we can get. Please head over and make a donation to this generous, humble bloke. It'd mean the world to him.
