Hello all,
My name is Colleen Marley. I am from East TN and I am raising money for my neighbor and future son-in-law Nathaniel Hester who is in Houston and needs help getting to his treatments at MD Anderson.
Nathaniel was diagnosed with advanced stage Olfactory Neuroblastoma in February of this year. He and my daughter, Chandler, moved to Houston in May for his surgery and treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Nathaniels cancer is extremely rare and this is one of the only facilities in the US with the experience and equipment to treat Nate properly. He is in the final stage of his treatment, receiving Proton Therapy (radiation) to his head, neck and both sides of his throat.
Their vehicle was completely flooded in Hurricane Harvey and they have no means of transportation to the Proton Therapy Center and doctors appointments. There is currently only one taxi service running and it is over $25 each way. Due to the devastation it will be a month or more before the insurance adjustor can look at the car and there are no rental cars available until Mid-September. If everyone donated as little as $5 it would more than take care of the immediate transportation needs.
It took a LOT of convincing to get Nate's permission to set this up. He is a sucessful, hardworking man and has never been in this position. The medical expenses and loss of income are devastating and we want Nate to be able to focus on healing. Thank you in advance for your love, prayers and support.
