Please Help Save Dilly
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I'm fundraising for my dear friend and colleague, Andrea Brownstein, whose horse Dilly is battling a life-threatening condition called Guttural Pouch Mycosis. For my non-equestrian friends, this is a very serious fungal condition in the guttural pouch, which in layman's terms, are sacs in the face that house arteries and nerves necessary to survive. The fungus erodes the walls of the arteries, and the horse suddenly bleeds to death with no warning. Usually this remains undetected and is diagnosed after they are dead. By some miracle, Andrea found him as he started bleeding and was able to rush him to the equine hospital, where they performed emergency surgery to stabilize him and stop the bleeding. He is still not out of the woods, and although she has insurance, there are still substantial medical bills that will not be covered.
For those who don't know Andrea's story and without going into detail, Andrea has suffered traumatic losses this past year most people would never recover from, and now she is at risk of losing her beloved horse. Andrea is always there for anyone in need, and there isn't a person or animal who isn't better for knowing her. Her strength and selflessness make it hard for her to ask for help, so her friends have elected to set this up on her behalf. No donation is too great or too small.
Let's give something back to someone who gives so much of herself to save animals. Please help us help her to save Dilly!
Thank you.
