Medical Supplies for Rural Nepal

Last year I traveled to the remote area of Patiswara, a Gurung village in the southern Gorkha district. I brought medical supplies and helped perform basic health checks to the people there. The area was devastated by the Earthquake of 2015 (Also known as the Gorkha Earthquake). I was amazed to see the destruction that still exists in the area as many are left without homes to this day, over two years later. This year I will be returning with a fellow medical student in order to hopefully provide further supplies. We have been able to organize with local doctors the chance to visit more rural villages. Medical supplies are severely lacking in this part of the world leading to worse health outcomes for what in the west, would be considered benign illnesses.

Therefore all efforts will go a long way towards helping those in need.
We are hoping that some of you may be able to make a contribution to this fundraiser - all of the money will be used to buy important basic equipment needed (we will be funding our own transport.) Things like sterile gloves, syringes, alcohol wash, alcohol wipes, bandages and thermometers will be purchased. These things are in short supply and desperately needed. They will be put to very good use to help the people of Nepal receive proper medical attention. All contributions no matter the size will be very gratefully received and will make a big difference in providing safe potentially life saving care.
