Hi, my name is Laisa. I am one of Annalise’s closest friends. To know Annalise is to love her. She is one of the kindest, sweetest, and most genuine souls you could ever meet. She is smart, loyal, caring, down-to-earth, humble, and incredibly hardworking. She has always been the type of friend who shows up for others, no matter what.

Annalise has always aspired to be a bilingual elementary teacher. Annalise is in her senior year at UTSA, just one semester away from earning her degree, while also working as a clinical resident teacher at Harlandale ISD. Her love for helping children in such a selfless and compassionate way has always been at the core of who she is.

However, on Wednesday, November 26, time stopped when she was involved in a traumatic car accident that has now completely altered her life.

Annalise is currently in critical condition in the ICU, undergoing daily surgeries to treat her extensive injuries. These include a brain hemorrhage, multiple fractures, and several other severe complications. Although we are confident in her strength and resilience, she faces a very long and challenging road to recovery.
