Hello everyone,
On Tuesday night Minnie's entire body became tense, shaking and crying to the touch. We rushed her to the hospital, they were able to give her pain meds to relax and sent her home.
Wednesday Morning we took her to her Vet where they ran extensive amounts of testing such as x-rays, urine test, blood test, ect. still not able to fully diagnose her at this point she was sent home with more pain meds to mask the pain.
Thursday Night things took a turn for the worse Minnie could not put any pressure on her hind legs, and could not walk causing her to collapse to the ground. Matt and I scooped her up and rushed her straight to the ER. After more testing the DR was able to diagnose her with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) getting her on the right Anti-inflammatory med, Steroids and muscle relaxers.
After bringing her home and keeping her bed bound Friday and Saturday she was showing signs of progress, getting feeling in her hind legs and becoming more alert. Sunday morning came and things took a a drastic turn again as Minnie had no movement in her back legs and became tense to the touch. We rushed her to VMCLI Hospital were she was admitted to the hospital over night for better observation.
Today Monday, Minnie was able to be seen by the neurologist who advised us that she was in stage 4 of IVDD and needed to get an MRI and go into surgery immediately to save her function in her legs. Our baby being able to walk and live the life she deserves was the only thing that mattered to us.
Matt and I have never been one to ask anyone for help/financial help but this situation was not something we could have ever anticipated. Over the last week we have had to cover over $13,000.00 to help our girl walk again. Unfortunately it doesn't end there. Minnie will still need follow up visits and therapy to recover.
We appreciate and are grateful for any help that we can get.
We are praying for a full recovery for Minnie as she still has a very long road ahead of her.
Any donation will help
Thank you
