On Monday, September 5th, about 15 minutes after having fun playing in the water at the river with ours kids, my beautiful and strong friend was in a horrible accident. Her right tire had gone off the road, pulling her into the ditch and rolling the vehicle. By the grace of God, Aurora, her daughter was safe in her car seat with only a few bruises and scraps. However, Theresa and her dog, Fiona, were found about 80ft from the vehicle. When officers arrived on scene she was given CPR and resuscitated. When she regained consciousness, she was told her baby was ok and life flight was on its way. During the life flight she had to be given CPR again, resulting in a fractured sternum and a few fractured ribs. She was admitted to the emergency room and stabilized. Theresa had to have numerous x-rays, an MRI and CT scans to find out the extent of her injuries. The results were a broken tibia and fibula, a dislocated ankle, broken pelvic bone, broken sacrum, and four fractured vertebrae in her spine. The next day she had surgery on her pelvis and leg. Doctors had to use two rods and a plate to hold the pelvis together. The surgery for the tibia and fibula breaks also required plates and rods. Two days later the surgery was done on her spine to fuse her four fractured vertebras. She is healing and day by day getting better, but it will be a long road to full recovery. Her loyal dog endured some injuries as well. She has a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament, which will also require surgery. Her loving other half, Tre, has worked very hard and they have both made a lot of sacrifices so that Theresa can be a stay at home mom. During this tragic time, Tre has had to take time off from work to fill the hole left by Theresa’s absence. We all know how hard times can be, so I am asking for help for my dear friend for the future of her healing and her family. Thank you for taking the time to read this! If you can not donate, please pray for quick healing.
