My dog Niko started puking about 5 days ago, so we took him to our local vet. They gave us instructions to not feed him or give him water for 12 hours (they gave him a fluid pack on his back the first day), and we did everything they said. The next day, we were told to start slow with water and chicken/rice, but he refused to eat. So, we took him back to the vet, and she said to repeat the instructions from before and then try the chicken/rice all over again. He also got another fluid pack on his back on day 2. She stated if he puked again to call them, and he did puke again, so she said to let him rest and call back the next day. Not one single time did the vet mention anything about an “intestinal blockage.” I started googling his symptoms and was able to figure out it was, in fact, an “intestinal blockage.” So, I called another vet, and the guy agreed that it sounded like that as well and directed us to Enchanted Mountain Emergency Vet here in Olean.
So, Niko does have a severe blockage and needs EMERGENCY SURGERY due to eating a “foreign object,” and he now has a fever. We either have to put him down (he is 1 year old) or pay $5,000 to help him, and at this time, we do not have all of it. He is now home with us to say goodbye if we cannot help him and have to take him back to be put down.
I'm asking everyone to please share or please, please consider donating. Our dog is 1 year old, and our 3 children love him to the moon and back, as well as myself and my husband. Thank you and God bless.
