Hello Friends & Family,
Like many of you, I have had the priviledge & honor of enrolling my kids in various activities (such as soccer, swimming & cheer) and as many of you know, it is VERY expensive. But we have been blessed!
Most recently, Morgan is cheering for Camarillo High Schools Varsity Cheer Squad. She has had a blast and made many new friends. One of which is Rachel. Over this past season, we have come to learn a lot about Rachel and the MANY challanges she has faced in recent years. Including the loss of one parent & abandoment by the other. Initially, she moved in with family, due to some unfortunate circumstances, she was removed by CPS, and placed at Casa Pacifica. Needless to say, it has been a very rough year!
Take that in for a moment. Imagine how that would affect anyone, and especially a teenager.
So how did Rachel handle all of this?
Like a champ!!! Grades that have placed her on honor roll . A strong leader in ASB. A Varsity cheerleader AND she has volunteer coached our local Youth Road Runner cheerleaders for the past 3 years! ( Rachel fell in love with cheering at age 6! and has been cheering ever since) Her smiles are radiant & her personaily is infectious!! I truly love this girl!! She is a fighter for sure!! At Nationals, during one of their practices, a flyer landed on Rachels face. She was taken to ER, recieved 3-4 stitches on her eyelid, then returned to compete with her team. She was DETERMINED not to let them down! (I told you, she is a champ!)
Wednesday, we were at our last game. I happened into the restroom and found Rachel inside. She wasnt her bubbly self. I asked her some questions, and eventually got to the root of her heartache. Because Rachel has been imansipated by the courts, she is financially responsible for herself now. Granted, an amazing cheer family has taken her into their home to live for now & next school year. But they have 3 other children in their home as well, and they can not afford to pay for Rachel's cheer program. I will be honest, I joined her in tears at this point. This sweet girl, that works SO HARD, is once again facing heartache & another unfair situation.
Well my friends, I can't sit back and watch. I want to help Rachel. This next cheer season will be her Senior Year. And I can't think of ANYONE that deserves a break, more then Rachel.
Will you PLEASE consider a donation? Even if it seems small to you, together, we can all make a difference and give this beautiful child a dream come true!! She would love nothing more then to be able to finish what she started, and has worked SO hard to be GREAT at. She needs this! Her teammates WANT this too! These are the sweet memories this girl needs for her Senior year. I hope you will agree and join me in sponsoring her. She is worth it!!
Thank you for reading this far! And if you are able to contribute, thank you again!!
God Bless you all!
Love,
Kim
