The week of the New Year, after a gallbladder attack in October and removal, and then a full hysterectomy in December, my mother got the news that the biopsy from her hysterectomy showed Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer.
My mother is not new to the diagnosis of cancer as she has been previously diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma when she was a teenager, went through chemotherapy, and beat it. My mother was told that she would never have any children, and then came along the three of us. I fully believe that despite all the odds thrown against her, my mother was meant to be a mom and was meant to be our mom.
If you have the ultimate pleasure of knowing my mother, you know that she is the most caring, honest, strongest, stubborn, supportive, hilarious, and beautiful person.
We are asking for donations to help my mother and my father during this time when she is going through treatments. Both of my parents are continuing to work and put their best foot forward, but sometimes the unexpected costs, treatment, or time off work might cause the focus to be less on the big picture, which is the healing process for my mother.
Our ultimate goal is and will be my mother beating cancer. Without my mother, I would simply not exist and be able to live this life, and for her, I’m forever grateful. Even if you’re not able to donate, please share this post or, better yet, give a positive thought or message to help us through this difficult time.
