Sadly, on September 14th, 2023, the Charlottetown Police Service announced that two PEI residents have been charged in connection with Summer Kneebone's disappearance. Both have been charged under Section 182(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada on charges of interfering with a dead body or human remains. The investigation is still unfolding and many questions are left to be answered but we do know that Summer has been the victim of a heinous act.
September 15th, Detectives from Charlottetown Police Services located human remains in a remote area of Kings County. The remains are believed to be that of Summer Kneebone who went missing on August 7, 2023.
Left to grapple with this horrendous tragedy are her parents Irma Hughes and Steve Kneebone, sister Kayla Richards, and brothers Joey Richards and Steven Peters. Also left behind are her three beautiful children, Morrison, Cameron, and Regan.
While I did not know Summer as of late, I had the pleasure of growing up with Joey, Kayla, and Steven in West Royalty. I remember her sweet smile, silly laugh, and friendly banter when she was just a small girl. The family has given me permission to start this GoFundMe to help them maneuver through the difficult days and weeks that lie ahead of them. If you are unable to help monetarily, please share on your social media.
For those who would prefer to send a monetary donation directly to Irma, please contact either myself, Irma, Steven, or Joey for her email as GoFundMe does not allow email addresses to be listed publicly.
