Rally for Kendra's Recovery
Donation protected
Anyone who knows Kendra, even just a little, knows that she loves fiercely and will rally to your side as your #1 fan to support you in any way she can. She is, in fact, a teacher of love, guiding so many of us into loving more deeply and purely by her example and her presence. And the time has come for all of us to rally to her side and return that love, fiercely, with interest.
Just before Thanksgiving 2023, Kendra was rushed to the hospital having experienced a sub arachnoid hemorrhage - meaning there is bleeding in the space that surrounds the brain. Most often, it occurs when an area in a blood vessel on the surface of the brain bursts and leaks. The blood then builds up around the brain and inside the skull increasing pressure on the brain. This can cause brain cell damage, life-long complications, and disabilities.
We are fortunate that she was able to get care quickly, and she is currently stable, responsive and being closely monitored. However, the road to her recovery is uphill and unknown. She will most likely remain in the hospital for a few weeks, and then require a great deal of treatment and care to recover from and adjust to the potential impacts of this brain trauma.
As many of know, Kendra is a Behavioral Therapist, helping countless children with conditions like autism, learn to thrive and shine. She is an artist and creative inspiration. She is a second mother to the children of her friends. She is a shining light who brings love and laughter to everyone she touches. She is a best friend to so many of us. The world needs Kendra, and Kendra needs the world right now to support her.
While she had insurance at the time of hospital admission, the coverage is limited and the current need far surpasses insurance capacity. It is not in the family's nature (or Kendra's) to ask for financial support, but we want to make sure Kendra has the best possible care once she is discharged from the hospital, and she and her family will need as much support as possible as the cost beyond insurance coverage could easily exceed tens of thousands of dollars.
Any donation, large or small, would benefit Kendra's recovery. The raised funds will cover:
– Current hospitalization and treatment costs beyond her insurance coverage
– Medical bills related to specialist care as they continue try to understand her prognosis
– Future recovery efforts in the form of rehabilitation, physical therapy and mobility equipment such as a possible wheelchair upon discharge, and for an indefinite period of time.
– Meals, transportation and lodging for Kendra's family to travel and assist her
- Coverage of basic needs and living expenses while she is unable to work
Any funds received and unused/uneeded will be donated to charities and fundraisers of Kendra's choosing.
While there is so much left to the unknown, what we do know is that anything that you can give is very appreciated and will be incredibly impactful for her recovery trajectory.
Let's unite alongside her with fervent well wishes and generosity during this holiday season and beyond!

Many of you have asked about visiting Kendra. We are advising to hold off until Kendra's condition improves, and she is further down the road in her recovery. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them along the way. Please feel free to reach out to her sisters, Noel and Paige, or her friends Brad and Hans, for personal inquiries.
