Support For Beau
I'm Sam Beau's Mum. (UPDATED 16TH OCTOBER 2021)
In December 2020 Beau started suffering pains in his chest, this continued for months and due to the constant pain, Beau suffered traumatic PTSD in March 2021 which meant that he stopped eating, drinking, walking and talking.
After months of having to care for Beau 24/7 as he still wasn't walking, talking eating or drinking without an NG tube we were finally given a diagnose in August 2021.
Beau was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening condition called Pervasive Arousal Withdrawl Syndrome (PAWS) once known as Pervasive Refusal Syndrome (PRS).
PAWS or PRS is treatable but requires inpatient hospital treatment and with treatment lasting around 12 months.
Beau is an 11 year old boy and before all of this happened Beau was a happy boy who loved playing Fortnite and Minecraft, playing on his PS4, fishing and having fun with his friends. All we want is to have our boy back to how he was.
As a parent, you will do anything for your children and having this treatment will mean that Beau will have to live away from home for this period of time which could possibly be 12/24 months not something we ever imagined we would be doing with any of our children but if it means we get our boy back then it's worth it.
We would like to thank everyone who has already donated and helped us raise nearly £7,000 towards the stairclimber that was needed to help move Beau from upstairs to the downstairs of his home. It now seems like an incredible ask for more support in trying to achieve this huge amount to get him the much-needed treatment he needs.
The rest of the donations will go towards supporting Beau in moving forward with his recovery.
On 23rd November Beau will be admitted as an Inpatient to The Croft Centre in Cambridge. Here he will live along with myself his Mum whilst he undergoes treatment for his PAWS.
This is going to have a huge impact not just on beau but also on the rest of the family as I will be away from the family home for a long period of time to work with Beau and his team at The Croft.
