Hi, my name is Michelle and I am fundraising for Donnie Olson. I work with Donnie at Label Mark-it and not only consider him part of my LMI family, but also a Great Friend.
Donnie’s battle began on December 1st of 2023 when he wasn’t feeling well and started to become quite confused. Sue decided to bring him to urgent care in TRF where he was transferred to the ER and was immediately flown to Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. After Ct scans and MRI’s they confirmed that Donnie has a brain tumor and it is causing excess fluid on the brain. On December 5th the Doctors at Fairview Hospital inserted tubes into his brain to release the fluid and December 8th, they performed surgery.
The doctors felt comfortable with how the surgery went so they discharged Donnie on Dec 12th. Donnie & Sue were very excited to go home and enjoy the holidays with their Children & Grandchildren before he had to return to begin radiation.
On December 20th , Donnie was not feeling right so Sue called the Triage Nurse where they recommended Donnie go to TRF emergency room. They decided to run a CT scan which showed more fluid on his brain so he was again flown immediately back to Fairview. The Drs began the process of draining the fluid and after days of recovery, Donnie & Sue were able to go home for approximately 1 week before he had to return to Minneapolis to began his 6 weeks of radiation treatments.
January 15th Donnie began his radiation.
Donnie radiation is Monday through Friday at Fairview (process last approximately 10-20 minutes) and they shuttle him & Sue back to their hotel which is their home for at least the next 6 weeks.
this brings me to the GoFundMe page. They have already incurred alot of expenses, and will continue to do so for quite some time.
I know sometimes in your life you meet those few people that impact you in some way & that for me is Donnie! You don’t find a more genuine kind person than he is. These past couple months I have got to know his wife Sue & they are ……Great people!
If you are able to donate to his Journey, and help lift some of the financial burden off of their family, it would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate, all prayers are appreciated also, Thank you!
