We could never image this would happen. On 5/9/20 our beloved 2 year old Doberman, Penny, was hit by a car on Orangethorpe Ave in Fullerton, CA. She was in the hospitals for 4 days where she spent time recovering from the trauma of multiple internal and external injuries. Unfortunately, she was injured badly. She broke her hind leg, her shoulder, and has extensive nerve damage that will require her front leg to be amputated.

While it is hard to take the reality of knowing that there is no other option but to amputate, we are just so thankful that our girl is still with us. She is such a beautiful spirit and we know that this outcome will make her even more special. Penny loves going on hikes, playing at the dog park, exploring the outdoor with our family. She loves greeting all the neighbors both dogs and people that walk by in the afternoons.  

The challenge: As any pet owner knows, X-rays, evaluations, hospital stays, and antibiotics add up extremely quickly. Now we are left with the added cost of the amputation. This has put us in a difficult financial position.  Thankfully, the amputation is not life threatening so we are hoping that we can raise what is needed for the procedure.
