Tommy's Battle with Glioblastoma

Donation protected
In July of 2018, the Holmes Family's lives were turned upside down when Tommy was diagnosed with brain cancer.  Glioblastoma is a very rare and aggressive type of cancer with no current cure available.  Treatment is provided to prolong the quality of life but it creeps in silently and takes over the brain with quickness and cruelty unmatched by any other cancers.

Tommy underwent surgery to remove much of the mass followed by radiation and chemo for 6 weeks, and then 12 cycles of monthly high dose chemo over the next year. His first MRI after finishing that grueling regimen, showed a recurrence of tumor. Tommy’s unwavering strength, positive attitude, faith and passion for life drove him to remain dedicated to continuing treatment with different chemotherapies and other medications. This went on for another 9 months...as one medication failed and the MRI showed progression, Tommy moved to the next line of treatment, always with optimism and faith. When that showed to be ineffective, he entered a clinical trial and even with all of the hope in the world, it too was not enough and he was taken off the trial. Even with learning that most heartbreaking news, Tommy remained calm and his faith is rock solid. Unfortunately we have reached the end of treatment options and he is receiving hospice care at home.

With their children (Violet 4 and Joey 2) at grandma and grandpa's home, Jessie is trying to spend as much time as possible with Tommy at their home.

These funds will be incredibly beneficial in the short term as they pay for medical expenses and basic living costs.  In the long term, they will be such a blessing to help with the salary loss of sweet Tommy and the ongoing costs of raising a family.

The Holmes Family is moved by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers they have already received.  They are grateful for friends and family, near and far, who have reached out to offer help. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Please continue to lift Tommy, Jessie, Violet and Joey up in prayer.

If anyone is local and would like to send meals, please contact me for the link.  I have been friends with Jessie since High School and 100% of the available funds will go directly to the Holmes Family.
