Nick Pritchard and Ian Tindale debut recording
Donation protected
Heralded as ‘a hearting-meltingly beautiful voice and piano duo’, tenor Nick Pritchard and pianist Ian Tindale are delighted to be making their debut recording together in 2025, for release on Signum.
Since establishing themselves as one of the foremost partnerships of their generation, they have given acclaimed performances at Oxford International Song Festival, Leeds Lieder and across the UK, including most recently for BBC Radio 3 at the Edinburgh International Festival.
This exciting recording will include Benjamin Britten's cycle 'Winter Words' and some of his well-loved folksong arrangements, as well as world premiere performances of songs by Imogen Holst. Nick and Ian are extremely excited to be able to include a new song cycle by Daniel Kidane, 'Songs of Illumination', written for the duo in 2018 by this exciting composer whose works have recently been showcased at the BBC Proms and Wigmore Hall.
CDs are no longer profitable for musicians or labels, making recordings like this mostly a self-funded endeavour. But recording remains vital for an artist's portfolio, career advancement, and as a means to share interpretations and personal voices with a wider audience. Nick and Ian are incredibly passionate about this project, which includes music they have been performing together for almost a decade, but need your help in making this come to fruition.
Your support will enable them to pay for the fees of the producer and engineer, and the costs of hiring the venue and piano. Nick and Ian have been offered £5000 of matched funding, so they are seeking donors to help meet this target, and contribute to overall production costs of over £11000.
Thank you.
