Steven’s Journey

Donation protected
Hi my name is Bryce and I’m fundraising for my little cousin, Steven.

In April 2025, Steven began suffering from constant headaches and vomiting. After nearly a month of back-and-forth GP visits and being told it was “just a virus,” his Parents, Stella and Steve, pushed for an MRI.

Within hours, Steven was rushed from Dubbo to Westmead Children’s Hospital for emergency brain surgery. He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. This is a terminal stage 4 brain cancer, which is extremely rare in children. Glioblastomas are known for developing quickly, spreading into healthy brain tissue, and being incredibly difficult to remove completely, even with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. There is currently no known cure, only treatments to try and slow down the growth. Despite this, Steven has fought with more bravery than anyone his age should ever need.

Since then, Steven has bravely endured two major brain surgeries, six weeks of radiation, and a clinical chemotherapy drug trial, to which the cancer did not respond to.

Steven is only 11 years old. He is extremely gifted, and loves space, science, and everything to do with NASA. His dream is to visit the NASA Space Center in the US. Due to the nature of his condition, doctors have advised that he may not be able to fly for much longer, meaning this dream needs to happen soon, while he is still well enough to travel.

Steven’s dad, Steve, continues to work full-time in Dubbo while travelling back and forth to Sydney for Steven’s treatment, doing everything he can to support the family. His mum, Stella, has not been able to work at all. She has been by Steven’s bedside 24/7, sleeping in the hospital and caring for him through every procedure and scan. The financial strain has been enormous, and they simply cannot afford to make Steven’s wish come true on top of the ongoing costs they’re already facing.

This fundraiser is not only to help Steven live his dream and create precious memories with his family, but also to ease the financial pressure on Stella and Steve so they can focus on spending quality time with him.

Any donation, big or small, will mean the world to Steven and his loved ones. Thank you for helping give him something beautiful in the middle of something so unimaginable.
