On March 21, 2016 ....Ten year old Gabby Serpico literally gave her brother the best birthday gift ever.. The gift of Life! Gabby woke up and seen smoke in her hallway.. Instead of moving toward the front door.. She courageously went down the hallway to wake up her brother Victor Joseph, who hovered over his sister as they fled through the thickening smoke and flames to safety. Ironically, thier mom just ran to pick up Victors girlfriend, who wanted to surprise him with a bouquet of Birthday Balloons..But instead showed up to see her son in an ambulance on oxygen and her daughter hysterical in the street. If it wasn't for Gabbys quick reaction....Firefighters said within minutes, the outcome on Victors 17th Birthday would have been quite devestating.
The family's home and all its contents have all been destroyed and they have been totally displaced. The only thing that they have left is literally the clothes that were on their backs. They are in desperate need to find a temporary 4 bedroom home in the Dongan Hills/Grasmere Area/South Beach area. It will be approximately one year until thier home is rebuilt. This Go Fund Me page is to help these 2 very brave and BLESSED children who almost lost their lives, put clothes on thier back and get the necessities needed to get back on thier feet. There is absolutely no amount too small that will not be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your prayers and well wishes to a family who is deeply grateful and humbled by the kindness of others.
