I copied the below post from my nephew Christopher's facebook page. I could not think of a more accurate way of describing the tradedy of his loss and at the time share the gratitude that exists in the hearts of Chris and Todd. Please reach out and contribute in helping them recover and rebuild.
From Christopher:
Hello everyone. As many of you know by now that huge devastating fire 2 days ago on 21and Locust was our home. Todd,Berkley and I are 100% fine. We have meetings all day today with the Red Cross, housing management company, and insurance people. Last we heard the building is a complete loss and is condemned. Chances are we will not be allowed inside to see if anything is salvageable before they tear it down. My family and I are used to new starts however this time we will be starting over from scratch. The tragedy was our first shock of the week. The second bigger shock is this outreach of complete love and support that we've been getting not only from our families who have gone above and beyond any expectations we had but also from the amazing people at both our jobs. The "Schmear it" company that Todd works at. Plus the amazing people that I work at over at #Sweatfitness. If that wasn't enough the Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus (#philagmc) literally brought tears to both Todd and my eyes. We could never thank our families and all three organizations enough.
These events have totally humbled Todd and I and has changed our lives forever. Not just the tragedy but the amazingly positive aftermath of love has truly rocked us to our very cores. Thank you so much for your assistance in our time of need. Every person in each group I've mentioned has made this that much easier and had truly shown us what is important in this life. It's not things, or photos, clothes, or even puggy stuff it's the people in your life that is really important. My family is intact and our hearts are healing thanks to each and everyone of you! Thank you again.
