Hi, my name is Amber and this is my baby Sophie. Anyone who knows me, knows that my dogs are my kids. Sophie is a 4 (almost 5!) year old dachshund that I’ve had since she was a puppy. My dogs have always been my rock, keeping me afloat even when life gets overwhelming. Now it’s my turn to be that for them. Recently Sophie was diagnosed with lymphoma. She is currently on a steroid to help slow the cancer cell growth but is waiting to see an oncologist in June to start chemotherapy. I want to give my baby the best treatment possible but it comes with a hefty price tag that is making things complicated. Chemotherapy is around $2,500 to start and that doesn’t include her blood work, x-rays, biopsies, medications, special diet, and more.
