Urgent Help Needed For A Family's New Beginning

I’m raising funds for a family who’s lost everything where they are from, and if you could see what they have to endure to just try to keep a roof over their head, you’d cry.

The lady who is trying to better their situation is in tears because she’s overwhelmed and devastated. Her mom just had double bypass heart surgery and total hip replacement surgery, and she’s fighting for her life right now. She knew they needed help and was scared to ask in fear she would be dehumanized for asking.

Her only home is a motel, and they don’t sleep. People are screaming and fighting outside of her door throughout the night. Their door handle is being shaken from the outside to see if the door can be opened by someone not living there. I went and visited them at the hospital, and the daughter was crying through my entire visit with her. I took them milkshakes and kept their kids focused anywhere else but the reality of what they are having to face especially with everything going wrong all at once. 

One person is disabled herself and can’t even focus on her own health because she has to work and make money to try and keep a roof over their heads and to get out of the situation they’re in now. If she doesn’t, they get kicked out. 

I’ll drive anyone here to where she lives. I’ll send you pics and prove anything you need to help you understand why it came down to this and how they ended up losing everything and having to be at the place they are staying now.

Please, they desperately need help with getting a safe place to live so, God willing as their mom makes it through this and rehabilitation for her heart and hip, she will have a safe place to live where she can heal and they can get back on their feet again. The family moved out of state years ago for a better life and opportunity. They were taken advantage of and moved back to Florida, and in all of this mess, took the first place that would accept them all being in the same room because that’s all they could get. The one-bedroom efficiency has four people having to live there now, and this is not including mom.

Every place they have tried to get a place to rent wants first, last, deposit plus application fees, and they just don’t have the money for all that, especially after having to pay for where they are at right now. They desperately need donations, no matter how small the amount, to help them get enough money together to rent a safe place to live for their mom and them and so they can work together and get back on their feet. 

The other three family members, one the oldest daughter is 56 years old and just started working again a few days ago. Her son is 55 years old and a disabled Army Veteran but will also be starting work next week and her grandson is 20 and actively looking for work. They are doing everything they can possible to improve their situation and they have contacted every organization that they were told to contact, churches, and other places, including the VA, trying to get help, only to be told that they are having to be put on waiting lists and that they have no funds to help them. This family doesn’t have enough money, time, or resources to keep living where they are for a long period of time, and their mother doesn’t either. All donations will be used to secure them a safe place for them to live and get back on their feet.
