Daniel Dewaele, age 26 years old, was born and raised in Auburn. He is a brother to Clinton DeWaele, Cassidy Yeaple and son to Dan and Michelle DeWaele. Although I think he would say his family is much larger, surrounding himself with amazing freinds and always staying close to extended relatives. Daniel or as we know him Dj has always been a lover of sports and the outdoors. He has been in the process of starting an outdoor adventure guide business working hand in hand with his passion in life.
On the night of Wednesday, October 7th Dj was a passanger to a car driving home from Des Moines when the driver lost control and the car rolled several times before finally hittting a tree. 911 was called immediately. Dj suffered several life threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview. He has already foregone several surgeries including removing part of his liver and working to stop internal bleeding. He also recieved reconstructive surgery on his face where they needed to add metal plates. He is still in the hospital. It is not known what the future will tell as far as what Dj's recovery will include. He is a fighter and has already made leaps and bounds. But the future is unknown and the medical bills are beggining to pile up.
The journey to get back to normal life will undoubtably be a long one and that is why the DeWaele family could use your help! Every single penny raised for Dj will be going toward his medical bills and rehab. Please help if you can!
Dj and his family needs all the support and prayers that they can get, it is an extremly tough time for all of us. The overwhelming support Dj has already revieved in the form of visits to the hospital and prayers has already helped him so much. Finally the light in his eyes is beginning to come back, he is even showing his sense of humor in the little things. I know we all want our outgoing, adventerous, loving, goofy Dj back!
